We are so excited to finish up our Summer Reading program this week! This has been my first time participating in summer reading since I was (probably) ten years old. I've really enjoyed trying to put together activities and send out ideas for parents and caregivers at home. We fully recognize the challenges that families are facing, due to Covid-19 and all of us at the Charleston Public Library are here to support you and all those you care for in whatever ways we can.  As we are currently in our last week of Summer Reading, next week we start Takeout Storytime! While we are not able to hold storytime in person at the library yet, we are hoping to have storytime materials ready for you at the library each week - and each week we'll go live on Facebook with readalouds, songs, rhymes, alphabet practice, and more.  Have suggestions or comments? We are so excited to begin offering storytime for our patrons at the Charleston Public Library - takeout style! Starting Monday, August 3rd, storytime kits will be available for pickup! Kits will include an alphabet chart, sight words to practice, coloring sheets, songs and rhymes, and supplies for a nature walk. On Monday afternoons at 2:30 pm, catch us live on Facebook reading books aloud, going through the songs and rhymes and practicing all kinds of early literacy skills!  Ready to sign up?
